Help Your Community - Fill Out The Census

In this hyper-charged political atmosphere, there are those who resist filling out the 2010 census questionnaire, or to only provide the number of persons in their household.

But census information is a critical resource for many reasons.

Politically, it’s used to determine how many seats are allotted to each state in the U.S. Congress.

Population and associated data is used to determine federal grant funding. It can help redirect tax dollars sent to Washington, D.C., back home. Who could be against that?

Planners use census data for designing roadways, waterlines, and other infrastructure. Solid, up-todate infrastructure helps business grow, and when businesses grow, life improves for all.

Beyond that, information gleaned from census forms gives us a snapshot of America in statistical form. It tells us who we are, and how and where we live.

The census is not some government attempt to spy on you, your family, and your personal business. Strict laws prevent misuse of census data.

Don’t fall in with those who see a government plot around every corner. Take a few minutes and fill out your form when it arrives next month.

The community you help will be your own.
