AHS JV Boys Stand 13-0

The Archbold junior varsity boys basketball squad raised its record to 13-0 with four victories over the last two weeks.

AHS 62, Montpelier 19

The Streaks exploded out of the gate and led 25-2 after the first quarter. The score at halftime was 37-6 and the Streaks coasted to the win.

Defense keyed the win as the Locos were forced into 30 turnovers.

All 10 Streaks cracked the scoring column. Zeb Frank led with 11 points; Tanner Wyse had 10; Nate Rodriguez and Hayden Stamm each had eight.

The Streaks shot a blistering 68% from the field on 25- 37 shooting, including 22-27 inside the three-point line for 82%. The Streaks also connected on 9-10 from the foul line.

AHS 61, Pettisville 20

The Streaks led 18-3 after the first quarter and cruised to the victory.

Pettisville was forced into 23 turnovers, although the Birds outscored Archbold 12-10 in the second quarter. The Streaks won the rebounding battle 21-13; T. Wyse led the way with six.

Frank led Archbold with 21 points, including five three-pointers. Aaron Wyse followed with 10; Stamm, seven; and Tyson Dietrich, six.

“It was another solid performance by our guys against a hard-working Blackbird team,” said Joe Frank, AHS coach. “All 10 players received valuable playing time and contributed to the win.

AHS 37, Napoleon 15

The Streaks jumped out to a 22-6 halftime lead. All 10 Streaks cracked the scoring column, led by Frank with 10.

Archbold forced the Wildcats into 18 turnovers as its pressure defense was a determining factor. Dietrich pulled down four rebounds.

AHS 55, Swanton 21

Archbold used a 19-4 advantage in the second quarter to key the victory. The defense forced 23 Bulldog turnovers. Stamm and Frank led the way offensively with 10 points each.

A. Wyse and Gabe Rodriguez had nine and eight, respectively. The Streaks also dominated the boards 28-10.

“We played well the last three quarters,” said J. Frank.

“We will need to put together four quarters in next week’s contests at Defiance and undefeated Patrick Henry.”
