Anne Kindinger Is New Chamber Of Commerce Director
      The Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce Board picked Anne Kindinger, a person with “a high-energy personality,” to become its new director. Mark Hagans, chamber president, said he thinks she will be a good fit. Hagans said Kindinger had been one of two finalists for the post about 18 months ago when the board hired Nanette Buehrer.

West Clinton Youth Fooled In Hunt For Church Members In Disguise
      The West Clinton Mennonite Youth Fellowship proved again Wednesday night, Dec. 30, 2009, that you’re never too old to play hide and seek. A total of 27 youths plus their sponsors converged on the mall in Defiance to search for six West Clinton Mennonite Church members who were disguised there.

Council Makes Park Payment Of $200,000
      Archbold Village Council voted to make a second payment of $200,000 on the Woodland Park construction debt during its Monday night Jan. 4, meeting. But the decision may delay council’s planned extension of Lafayette Street to Co. Rd. 24. “It’s going to be tight,” Dennis Howell, Archbold village administrator, told councilmen.

Looking For First Baby Of New Year
      The title of Archbold Buckeye First Baby of the Year is waiting to be claimed. The Buckeye First Baby of 2010 is the first baby of the year born to parents living in the Archbold or Pettisville school districts after midnight, Dec. 31, 2009. The birth may occur at any hospital.

Two Local Firms Fail Alcohol, Tobacco Checks
      Two Archbold businesses, Archbold Super Valu Foods and Nu-Arch Lanes, were cited by the Ohio Investigative Unit for selling alcohol to minors. Of the four Archbold businesses tested, none sold tobacco products to a minor.

Brett Kolb, Fulton County emergency services director, and Paul MacDonald, former deputy registrar for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, will take over two vacant offices in the Fulton County Courthouse.
