Donald E. Buehrer

Donald E. Buehrer, age 85, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 23, 2009, at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. 

Prior to his retirement he had worked as a farmer and as a cabinet maker. After retirement he had mowed lawn and worked at Fairlawn Haven in Archbold  for 10 years.

Donald was born in Archbold on April 16, 1924, the son of the late Edwin and the late Celia (Leatherman) Buehrer. On Nov. 3, 1946, he married Donna Myers, and she survives. 

He was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Church. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and a member of the West Unity American Legion Post.

Surviving besides his wife, Donna, are children, David N. (Lynne) Buehrer of West Unity, Joan (Lynn) Aschliman of Archbold, Janet (Richard) Wright of Bryan, Holly Buehrer of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brother James (Sharon) Buehrer of Alvordton; and sister-in-law Mary Lou Buehrer of Archbold.  

He was preceded in death by his parents;  daughter Julie Anne Buehrer; brother Herbert J. Buehrer; nephews Randy and Michael Buehrer; and niece Sandra Buehrer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, at the Archbold Evangelical Church, with Pastors Stuart Rex and Doug Schrock, officiating.  Interment will be in the Pettisville Cemetery. 

Friends may call in the Fireside Room at the Archbold Evangelical Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
