County Corn Harvest 60% Done: LaBarge
      Greg LaBarge, Fulton County agricultural extension agent, said Monday 60% of the Fulton County corn harvest is completed, and the soybean harvest is finished. Soybean yields were “all across the board,” with field averages from the 30-bushels per-acre range into the 60-bushel range. The Fulton County soybean yield average is 42 bushels to the acre.

Pettisville NHS Induction
     Ten students were inducted into the Pettisville chapter of the National Honor Society at a ceremony Monday night, Nov. 16, in the school commons. The students were selected for the honor based on scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Conny Leber, a Pettisville exchange student, also was honored, although she cannot be a full member of NHS.

Entries Coming In For Lights Parade
      Nanette Buehrer, director of the Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce, said on Tuesday that entries for the annual Parade of Lights are coming in “a little bit ahead of last year.” She couldn’t report an exact number, but said she believes the number of entries could be up from last year.

School Board Hears About Success Day
      Archbold High School seniors will play games Friday, Dec. 4, as they participate in senior success day. All seniors, including those attending the Four County Career Center, will attend the event at Archbold Evangelical Church.

FISH Food Pantry Clients Double In Last Two Years
      Helen Weldy, a volunteer with Archbold FISH Food Pantry, said in the last two years, the number of people seeking food assistance has doubled. “They’re people just like you and I,” she said. “They’re human beings who don’t have the things they need, and food is one of the basic things.
