Buehrer Goes To Fairlawn, Leaves Chamber Position
      Fairlawn Haven is looking to reach out beyond its current campus, to provide services to seniors in Archbold and surrounding communities. To meet the goal, Steve Ringenberg, Fairlawn chief executive officer, said Monday the organization has hired Nanette Buehrer to be the director of development and community services.

Pull Plug On Pumpkin Path
      This year’s Pumpkin Path was the last, Jennifer Kidder, Archbold Parks & Recreation director, said last week. Kidder has another plan for next year. She said Pumpkin Path “had run its course. “The first year, we had 50 to 60 businesses. This year, we had just under 30.” That was more than 2007.

Students Build New House To Replace One Lost To Fire
      Suzie Tule is all smiles, while all around her the organized chaos of construction takes place. She’s standing amidst plywood and two-by-fours; in a few months, it will be the home she and her husband John will share to replace the one destroyed by fire, Saturday, April 11. But her new home differs from most. It’s being built by high school kids.

     The second grade classes of Mrs. Shields and Mrs. Coressel hosted Grandparents Day, Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Archbold Elementary School. Included in the day’s activities was an assembly with a Thanksgiving theme. Greg LaBarge, Fulton County agricultural extension agent, said Monday 60% of the Fulton County corn harvest is completed, and the soybean harvest is finished. Soybean yields were “all across the board,” with field averages from the 30-bushels per-acre range into the 60-bushel range. The Fulton County soybean yield average is 42 bushels to the acre. More...
