Local Boy Charged With Starting Fire
A 12-year-old Archbold boy has been charged with starting a fire at the East Gardens apartment complex sometime Saturday or Sunday, Oct. 3-4.
Tammy Cervantes, complex manager, told police on Monday, Oct. 5, someone had entered the locked community room inside the complex office building and set a fire in a child’s wagon.
A fire extinguisher from a hallway was used to douse the flames.
Thom Ross, Archbold assistant police chief, said officers determined the boy forced the community room door open.
Police were led to the youth through interviews with other persons.
Estimated damage: $20.
