Marjorie M. Short Marjorie M. Short, age 98, of Wauseon, passed away Wednesday morning, July 22, 2009 at the Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold. Prior to her retirement she had worked as an LPN at Henry County Hospital for 34 years. After her retirement she continued to volunteer at the Henry County Hospital. Marjorie was born in Fulton County on Nov. 28, 1910, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Amanda (Baer) Beck. In 1929 she married Laurel Short, and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was a member of the First Church of God in Wauseon. Surviving is one son, Laurel J. (Wyona) Short of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, LaVonne (Bob) Carter of Moneta, Va., and Joyce Robarge of Greensboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandson; and two brothers, Delmar Beck and Carl Beck, both of Archbold. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurel; one daughter, Judith Jane Short; one greatgrandson, Justin Holderer; three sisters, Lois Beck, Arlene Gasche, and Erma Rufenacht; and one brother, Val Beck. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at the First Church of God in Wauseon, with the Rev. Wes Glines, officiating. Interment was in the Pettisville Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First Church of God, the Gideons International or Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.
