Acme Baseball

Archbold defeated Liberty Center 5-1 to win the Fulton- Henry County Acme League championship, Monday, June 22.

The Blue Streaks finished the regular season with a league record of 7-1, and are 12-6 overall.

Collin Walker won his fourth game without a loss as he allowed only one run in six innings on the mound. Aaron Bontrager threw one shutout inning in relief.

Sam Miller and Bontrager each had two hits to lead the offense.

The Streaks came back from a 7-4 deficit in the second game that same night to clip Stryker 8-7 in nine innings. Zac Grosjean drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth for the walk-off win.

Ben Miller and S. Miller each had two hits. Corey Wyse, Bontrager, and Collin Walker all pitched, with Walker picking up his second win of the night to run his record to 5-0.

Corey Walker shut out Wauseon for six innings as Archbold beat the Indians 5- 0, Tuesday, June 23. Garrett Morton closed the game out in the seventh inning.

S. Miller went 3-3 at the plate.

The Blue Streaks won their fifth straight game, Thursday, June 25, as they pounded Ayersville 8-0. Tanner Wyse threw five shutout innings to pick up the win, with B. Miller and C. Wyse each throwing one shutout inning.

Grosjean and Morton each had two hits.

Archbold hosts the Fulton County sectional tournament this week. Two games are scheduled every night through Friday, starting at 5:30 each night.

Archbold was scheduled to play Monday's Evergreen- Wauseon winner, last night, Tuesday. The winner plays Thursday, July 2, 7:30 p.m.
