Lauren Kern threw a perfect game and led Archbold with three hits as the Streaks (21-3) advanced to the Division III regional tournament for the third straight year. The Archbold boys track teams won the Division III district track and field meet, Thursday, May 21, and Saturday, May 23, at Ayersville. The Streaks won with a team total of 113 points. The district track meet was held Thursday, May 21 and Saturday, May 23, at Ayersville. The Birds won the title with a team score of 93 points. With league championships in boys basketball, girls track, baseball, and softball, Pettisville won the Buckeye Border Conference all-sports championship for 2008-09. Patrick Henry (21-4), the defending Division IV state champion, knocked Pettisville (17-5) out of the Division IV district baseball final 10-0 in five innings, Friday, May 22, at Bryan. More ... Ayersville (19-4) scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to overtake Pettisville 2-1 in Division IV district semifinal softball action, Tuesday, May 19 at Liberty Center. The Birds, who finished with a 12-8 record, scored their only run in the fourth inning. More ... Quinn Nofziger, a Pettisville senior, was named Player of the Year in the Buckeye Border Conference for the 2009 baseball season.
