Streaks Win District Championship
Kern Throws Perfect Game
      Lauren Kern threw a perfect game and led Archbold with three hits as the Streaks (21-3) advanced to the Division III regional tournament for the third straight year. It's the 24th district softball championship in Archbold school history.

AHS Boys Track Team Wins D-III District Title
Girls Tie For Second
      The Archbold boys track teams won the Division III district track and field meet, Thursday, May 21, and Saturday, May 23, at Ayersville. The Streaks won with a team total of 113 points. Tinora was second with 67. AHS had five individual district champions.

Pettisville Girls Win District Championship
PHS Boys Finish 10th
      The Pettisville girls track team is the Division III district champion. The district track meet was held Thursday, May 21 and Saturday, May 23, at Ayersville. The Birds won the title with a team score of 93 points. Patrick Henry and Archbold tied for second with 88 points each.

Pettisville Wins BBC All-Sports Championship
      With league championships in boys basketball, girls track, baseball, and softball, Pettisville won the Buckeye Border Conference all-sports championship for 2008-09. The Birds finished with 47.5 points. Stryker was second with 38.5.

Streaks Avenge Loss To Vikes With Div. III District Semifinal Win
      The Archbold softball team had a rematch with Evergreen in Division III district semifinal action, Tuesday, May 19, and was victorious 7-3. The Streaks, who lost to the Vikes 2-1 in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League contest on May 5, got off to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning.

Streak Baseball Closes Out Season With Win
      The Archbold baseball team closed out its regular season with a 4-2 win over the Northwest Ohio Athletic League rival Wauseon, Tuesday, May 19. The Streaks, under Dick Selgo, first-year head coach, finished with a 13-10 record and was 5-3 in the league.

      Patrick Henry (21-4), the defending Division IV state champion, knocked Pettisville (17-5) out of the Division IV district baseball final 10-0 in five innings, Friday, May 22, at Bryan.

PHS Softball Falls In District Semi
      Ayersville (19-4) scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to overtake Pettisville 2-1 in Division IV district semifinal softball action, Tuesday, May 19 at Liberty Center. The Birds, who finished with a 12-8 record, scored their only run in the fourth inning.

Nofziger Named Baseball Player Of Year In BBC
      Quinn Nofziger, a Pettisville senior, was named Player of the Year in the Buckeye Border Conference for the 2009 baseball season. Jordan Klopfenstein and Clay Norris, seniors, were named First Team All-BBC. Harris King and Jared Avina, seniors, were named Second Team All-BBC.

      David Rupp and Steven Kinsman, Archbold High School, and Jordan Klopfenstein and Quinn Nofziger, Pettisville High School, have been selected to play in the Five-County All- Star baseball game, Friday, May 29, 6:30 p.m., at Defiance High School.

AHS JV Baseball Ends Season With 17-6 Record
      The Archbold junior varsity baseball team hosted Wauseon, Monday, May 11. Collin Walker pitched a no-hitter as the Streaks came away with a 10-0 five-inning victory. Aaron Bontrager led the hitting attack with three hits and two runs batted in.
