Scammers Target Western District Court Defendants
      Telephone scam artists are targeting persons who have had traffic cases in Fulton County Western District Court, said Jeff Robinson, Western District Court judge. "We're not certain how they're finding the information, but an individual or individuals unknown to us are contacting people who have traffic offenses.

Cat Shot With BB Gun; Treated
      A pet cat, owned by Bruce Werder, 320 Stryker St., required veterinary treatment after it was shot with a BB gun, an Archbold police report states. The animal was shot sometime between Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18. Police are treating the inciThe dent as an animal cruelty case.

Two Charged In Delta Fire; Fire Damages Lyons Co.
      state fire marshal office said that two persons have been charged in connection with a fire that destroyed a Delta tire store, Monday, April 27. Several Fulton County fire departments battled the blaze, which closed US20A and created a plume of black smoke that could be seen for miles.

Archbold Man Sentenced
      Tyler Waidelich, 23, Archbold, was sentenced to two years of community control after being convicted of complicity to commit theft in Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Scott A. Haselman, Fulton County prosecuting attorney, said Waidelich aided Breanna Bohner in committing a theft of cash between $500 and $5000. The offense occurred Dec. 12, 2008.

School Board Okays Wesche Retirement
      After 37 years in the driver's seat of an Archbold Area School District bus, Arlene Wesche has decided to pass the keys to somebody else. Effective June 1, she will retire from her post. Beth Wanemacher, transportation director, told members of the Archbold school board at the Thursday, May 21, meeting, that in 37 years of driving a bus, Wesche never had an accident.

      Shalon R. Short, 31, Wauseon, was driving a car east on Co. Rd. A about 4:15 pm, Friday, May 15, and hit a deer three-tenths of a mile east of Co. Rd. 21. No injury. --- Anthony R. Peterson, 32, Bryan, was driving a pickup truck west on St. Rt. 2 about 11:14 pm, Tuesday May 19, and hit a deer a quarter-mile east of Co. Rd. 25. No injury.
