Teacher, Supplemental Contracts Okayed By Pettisville School Board

Teacher and supplemental contracts were approved by the Pettisville School Board at its Monday, May 11, meeting.

Steve Switzer, district superintendent, said the school district is implementing a new contract structure.

Teachers will be offered two one-year contracts, a threeyear contract, and then a fiveyear contract, unless there are performance or other issues.

A continuing contract was issued to Amy Leppelmeier.

The board approved a fiveyear contract for Donna Meller, while Maggie Enderle received a three-year contract. Lisa Aeschliman received a three-year, part-time contract.

One Year

Penny McCartney received a one-year part-time contract; Shannon Borton, a one-year, part-time, grant-funded contract.

One-year contracts were approved for Rebecca Dorosz, Kelly Fulmer, and Charles Nafziger. Nancy Rupp received a one-year contract, at 40% of full-time.

Charlene Lee, an unlicensed school district employee, was granted a one-year contract at one-quarter time.


Supplemental contracts were approved for several teachers and non-certified persons.

Switzer said the board did not take action on supplemental contracts that are currently in season.

Boys Basketball: Greg Nofziger, varsity, open boys gym; Lynn Short, assistant; Scott Rupp, ninth grade, special assistant, elementary; A.J. Genter, seventh grade;

Girls Basketball: Jason Waldvogel, varsity, open girls gym; Brian Leppelmeier, special assistant; Lonnie Rufenacht, assistant; Christi Miller, ninth grade; Kendra Stahl, eighth grade; Kelly Fulmer, seventh grade.

Volleyball: John Horning, varsity, open gym, summer clinic; Rebecca Dorosz, special assistant; Lori Frey, eighth grade; Jadea Wixom, seventh grade.

Golf: Ed Bracken, varsity.

Soccer: Dick Nyce, varsity; Barnaby Wyse, reserve; Stan Roth, junior high.

Cross Country: Tom Wagner, varsity.

Cheerleading: Angie Nofziger, varsity; Lindsay Strayer, junior high.

Yearbook, Newspaper: Joyce Nafziger, Becky Dadisman, share editorial and business advisor; Dadisman, Pet Echoes advisor.

Clubs: Luann Bacon, family, career, and community leaders association; Lorrie Miller, library club, scholastic quiz team; Rich Reid, Spanish Club, National Honor Society; Bracken, mock trial; Duane Beck, student council (one position); Bobbi Yoder, student council, second position.

Class Advisors: John Poulson, Lexie Poulson, juniors; Reid, Nafziger, sophomores; Char Lee, freshmen; Bacon, Horning, eighth grade; Marla Miller, Cathy Mielke, seventh grade.

Dramatics: Dadisman, one-half position, high school drama director; Adrian Whitney, one-half position, second high school drama director; Arnie Rupp, productions advisor; Beck, elementary operetta director; Yoder, assistant operetta director, set director.

Instructional: Meller, Paul Bishop, science fair; L. Miller, audio-visual director; Roberta Yoder, instrumental director; Beck, vocal director; Horning, parking lot supervisor.

Faculty Manager: shared, Horning, 75%, Bishop, 25%.

Grant Programs: Waldvogel, director of federal programs, half funded locally, half from $2,000 grant, also drug-free schools program, $1,400 grant; Enderle, district mentor entry coordinator, $450 grant.


Berry, Walnut and Avocado Salad

1 package (6 ounces) spring mix salad 3/4 cup fresh strawberries, quartered 1.3 cup glazed walnuts 1.3 cup golden raisins 1 large avocado, sliced 1.3 cup Bleu cheese crumbles 1/4-1.2 cup raspberry walnut vinaigrette, or pomegranate blueberry vinaigrette

In a medium bowl, toss together the spring mix, strawberries, walnuts and golden raisins. Top with avocado and bleu cheese crumbles.

Drizzle lightly with dressing just prior to serving and pass dressing with salad.
