The top five teams of the day were Endures, West Unity; Innocent, Lockport; Babel On, West Clinton; The Greater Light, Sonrise Community; and Forbidden Fruits, West Clinton.

At the meets, quiz masters rarely finish the question; quizzers push in as soon as they think they know what the question is. In order to push quickly, quizzers spend many hours studying the scripture portion for that meet. Sunday's portion included Genesis 19-21.

Although quizzers have busy schedules, many still find time for service projects. Giving up quizzing at their home meet, Ryan Christman and Morgan Ducey, two quizzers from St John's, are spending the week in Biloxi, Miss., rebuilding homes with a group from their church.

Traveling trophies were given to the top two teams, Endures and Innocent. Prizes were given to teams that answered the most bonus questions correctly. Bonus questions are asked to the other team when the original question is missed.

Teams answering the most bonus questions correctly were "Awesome," Lockport- Isaac and Josiah Dahl, Luke Graber and Jordan Waidelich; "Flaming Sword," North Clinton- Kira Andre, Russell McClarren, Jacque Seigneur, Caleb and Tessa Yoder; and "Forbidden Fruits," West Clinton- Dexter Aeschliman, Shelby Miller, Kathryn Roth, Emily Short, Claire and Brooke Waidelich.

Eighteen quizzed out in all their matches: Colin Lehman, St John's; Elise Sauder and John Schoenhals, Central; Tiannah Sheets and Ciara Caldwell, Poplar Ridge; Jacob Karnes and Carly Sprow, Sonrise; Jen Beck, Emily Short and Ellen Roth, West Clinton; Josiah Dahl, Luke Graber, Derek Miller, Seth and Eliot Nofziger, Lockport; Whitney, Collin and Alexis Stamm, Sand Ridge.

The next quiz meet is Sunday, Feb. 15, 2 p.m., at Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker. It focuses on Genesis 22:1 to 25:18. For information visit nwobiblequiz.legendscalc.com.
