Betty L. Blair

Betty L. Blair, 84, of Wauseon, passed away Wednesday evening, July 16, 2008 at the Defi- ance Area Inpatient Hospice.

Betty was first a wife and mother, but had also worked as a custodian for the former Evangelical Mennonite Church in Wauseon for many years. She had also served the church in many capacities including as a Sunday School teacher, as president of the Ladies Aide, and had also served on the service committee.

Mrs. Blair was born in Fulton County on Sept. 15, 1923, the daughter of the late Walter and the late Georgia (Biddle) Perkins. On Oct. 18,1942 she married Lewis Blair, and he survives. They had been married for over 65 years.

She was a member of Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon.

Surviving besides her husband, Lewis, are four daughters, Loretta (Harry) Mackey of South Bend, Ind., Vicky (Ron) Crowe of Phoenix, Ariz., Beth (Paul) Kelley of Wakefield, Mass., Linda (Steve) Ramsey of Delta; two sons, David (Melody) Blair of Maryville, Mo., Tim (Jodi) Blair of Denver, Colo.; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Annabelle Henricks of Fayette.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Martha Haag.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 21, 2008 at Crossroads Evangelical Church, with Pastor Matthew Boyers, Pastor Wes Hoffmire and Pastor Tyler Quillet, officiating. Interment followed in the Wauseon Union Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Crossroads Evangelical Church Chapel Project or the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon.
