Dale King

Dale King, age 90 years, of Stryker, passed away Saturday morning, May 17, 2008, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.

He was born Aug. 18, 1917, near Archbold, a son of Henry and Ida (Weber) King. He married Lucille Leichty on Aug. 18, 1940, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 2002.

A resident of the Stryker area since 1940, he farmed for Lloyd Myers for 52 years, and later worked for Reitzel Machinery Sales at Archbold and Edon. He was a member of the Lockport Mennonite Church, rural Stryker.

He is survived by one son, Dale Eugene King of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Barbara (Raji) Dabit of Southaven, Miss., Donna (Wayne) Kauffman of Archbold, and Cheryl (Timothy K.) Cron of Massillon; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Olen King of Archbold, and Andrew (Doris) King of Wauseon; four sisters, Inez King, Delilah King, and Martha King, all of Archbold, and Florence Nofziger of Pettisville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Freeman King and Orville King; and one sister, Dorothy Lantz.

Services were held on Tuesday at the Lockport Mennonite Church with Pastors Timothy D. Cron and Cliff Brubaker officiating. Interment followed in the Lockport Cemetery.

Short Funeral Home in Archbold was in charge of the arrangements.
