  Archbold Track Team Wins District Championship

Archbold's Gobrogge, Pettisville's Frey Named "Best of the Best"

 

The Archbold boys and girls track teams won Division III district championships at Ayersville, Saturday, May 24.

   The girls team won seven events and captured the district title with 103.5 points. PH was second with 76.5.

   The boys team won three events and totalled 87.5 points for the title. Tinora was second with 71.5.

   Autumn Lantz captured the 100, 200, and was on the winning 4x100 team with Ashlie Horst, Katherine Moody, and Rahel Frei.

   Katrina Gobrogge won the 800 and was on the winning 4x800 team with Trisha King, Nikki Rupp, and Laura Bowman.

   King also won the 1600 and 3200.

   The top four finishers in each event advance to the regional at Tiffin. Also advancing to next week's regional on the girls team and their finishes at district:

   Horst, 4th-100

   Haley Nemcik, 2nd-100 hurdles

   4x200 (Horst, Frei, Melinda Sauder, Lantz), 3rd

   4x400 (Nemcik, Rupp, Deena Cowell, Gobrogge), 4th

   Cowell, 3rd-Pole Vault

Boys

   The 4x100 and 4x200 team of Jacob Fidler, Nate Hammersmith, Breon Price, and Garrett Waidelich won district titles.

   Hammersmith also won the 200.

   Also advancing to the regional:

   Garrett Waidelich, 2nd-100 and 200

   Price, 4th-100

   Michael Volkman, 2nd-800

   4x400 (Hammersmith, Colin Shannon, Fidler, Volkman), 3rd

   4x800 (Shannon, Noah Keefer, Brian Grime, Volkman), 4th

   Shannon, 2nd-High Jump

Pettisville

   Haley Nofziger won the long jump and was second in the 300 hurdles.

   Also advancing to regional:

   Brady Avina, 2nd-400

   Stephanie Yoder, 2nd-Pole Vault

   4x800 (Rachel Beck, Chelsea Schmucker, Tessa Yoder, Avina), 3rd

   Alex Frey, 3rd-1600 and 3200

   Austin Borton, 4th-1600.–Posted 5.24, 10:45 p.m.

   4x800 (Borton, Lincoln Frey, Christ Matthews, A. Frey), 2nd
