Black Swamp Quilts At Toledo Mennonite Church

More than two dozen quilts offered at the 2008 Black Swamp Benefit Bazaar and Quilt event are displayed at Toledo Mennonite Church, located at 5501 Nebraska Ave.

It is open Friday, May 16, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 18, 1 to 5 p.m. The exhibit features 24 donated handcrafted quilts and wall hangings. Most of the quilts are made by hand.

Twisted Bargello is the feature quilt. It is 115x96 inches. It was displayed at the Sauder Village quilt fair earlier this month.

The Black Swamp benefit is June 20-21. Quilts are auctioned Saturday, June 21 beginning at 9 a.m. The event is at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, north of Wauseon, on St. Rt. 108.

An auction preview is Friday, 4-9 p.m. at the fairgrounds includes a mini auction after the opening program.

In addition to the auction Saturday there is a 5 K run, youth and mud volleyball tournament, food, craft and children's activity area.
