Can You Spell T-H-O-U-S-A-N-D?
Ashtyn Mathews, Fayette, Rebekah Tilley, Pettisville, and Zachary Nowakowski, Swanton, guess how to spell "thousand" at the Fulton County Spelling Contest, Monday, May 5 at Archbold High School. Third- through eighth-grade students write the words on dry erase boards, which are held up to show the spelling judges. Two winners from each of three preliminary rounds advance to the championship round. A spell-off ensues until a champion is declared.
