AHS Softball Ups Win Streak To 7
      The Archbold varsity softball team outscored its opponents 51-3 and finished a perfect 5-0 last week. The Streaks defeated Liberty Center 16-0, Monday, April 21; Stryker 10-0, Tuesday, April 22; Tinora 11-0, Wednesday, April 23; Bryan 5-0, Thursday, April 24; and Fairview 9-3, Saturday, April 26.

JV Softball Goes 3-1
      The Archbold junior varsity softball team opened its season Monday, March 31 when Otsego visited. Sarah Wyse pitched seven innings, giving up one run on two hits, three walks and 11 strikeouts as Archbold scored eight times for a victory.

      The Pettisville baseball team defeated Edon 1-0 in a Buckeye Border Conference game, Monday, April 21. The Birds fell to Montpelier 7-6, Tuesday, April 22. PHS bats exploded for 16 runs in a 16-1 BBC victory at North Central, Thursday, April 24.

      The Archbold boys tennis team got back in the win column with a 4-1 victory over Bluffton, Friday, April 25. The Streaks lost 4-1 at Fremont St. Joe, Tuesday, April 22 and 3-2 to Napoleon, Wednesday, April 23. Ottawa Hills visited AHS, Thursday, April 24 and blanked the Streaks 5-0.

      The Pettisville track teams traveled to Archbold, Tuesday, April 22 for a tri-meet with the Blue Streaks and Delta. The PHS boys were third with a score of 46.5 points. Archbold won with 73.5; Delta was second with 55. The PHS girls were second with 64.5. Archbold won with 71.5; Delta had 38.

      Girls Under-14 Team The Archbold Blue Streak Soccer Club Girls Under-14 team opened the spring season, Thursday, April 17, traveling to Defiance. The girls had little time to practice due to bad weather, but were very aggressive. Archbold dominated, outshooting Defiance 18-2, but lost 1-0.

Brubaker Earns Black Belt
      Carl Jacob "CJ" Brubaker, 11, Archbold, has earned his black belt in karate. The Archbold fifth grader started his study of karate at the age of eight. He has participated in karate tournaments as far as Cancun, Mexico. He has won titles in open-hand forms, weapons forms, and sparring.
