Short Retires From School Custodian Job

The Archbold Area School Board accepted the resignation of Rex Short, school custodian, at the Monday night, Feb. 18 school board meeting.

Short worked 16 years: three as a custodian, and 13 as a custodian supervisor. Christine Ziegler, district treasurer, said Short works mainly in the elementary and high schools.

The board also approved Renee Lovejoy as a classified substitute, who will work on an asneeded basis.

Several supplemental contracts were approved:

Baseball: Kevin "Scoop" Miller, head coach; Jeff Brunswick, assistant varsity coach; Wendell Beck, junior varsity coach; Tom Vershum and John Brooks, volunteer coaches.

Softball: Joe Frank, head coach; Sarah Betts and Greg Kuhlman, assistant varsity coaches.

Junior high track: Tom Walker, Ryan Holdgreve, Ryan Miller, Mike Kennedy, coaches.

High school track: John Downey, head coach; Dina Gladieux, Lynn Schrickel, Mike Wachtmann, Kathryn Davis, assistant coaches.
