Candidates For Fulton Co. Prosecutor, 74th Ohio House District Representative

Citizens voting the in Fulton County Republican primary, Tuesday, March 4, have a choice of two candidates for the office of county prosecutor.

Roger Nagel, the current prosecutor, is not seeking reelection.

Voters in the 74th District of the Ohio House of Representatives will have a choice in the fall, as there are Republican and Democratic candidates. Fulton County Prosecuting Attorney (Republican Primary)

Candidate: Scott Haselman Resides in: Swanton Incumbent: No

Native of: Swanton

Education: 1988 Swanton High School graduate; bachelor of business administration, finance, University of Toledo, 1992; law degree, University of Toledo College of Law, 1995 (class valedictorian)

Present employment: partner, law firm of Robison, Curphey & O'Connell

Paul Kennedy
Other experience: Fulton County campaign chairman for Robert Cupp in his campaign for the Ohio Supreme Court and Terrance O'Donnell in his campaign to be reelected to the Ohio Supreme Court

Previously held public office: Swanton Village Council, 2002-present; president of council/ vice mayor, 2005-present

Comments: Haselman said he has represented clients in significant litigation, including in the Ohio Supreme Court and United States Court of Appeals. He has been responsible to oversee the activities of other attorneys.

On Swanton council, he's been a member of the committee that oversees the village police.

His objectives include training sessions for law enforce- ment personnel to update their knowledge and facilitate communications.

Haselman said his leadership skills, and ability to make the prosecutor office work with county officials, township trustees, and law enforcement, sets him apart.

Comments: Kennedy said his objectives are "a standard of tough, but fair, criminal prosecution, and the targeting of the drug activities that drive so many crimes."
