Orville H. Graber Orville H. Graber, age 90 years, of Archbold, passed away Saturday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2008, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee. He was born May 29, 1917, in Fulton County near Wauseon, a son of Harvey and Ida (Rupp) Graber Sr. He married Ilva Schultz on Feb. 21, 1941, and she preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2003. He lived at Clearwater, Fla., for 26 years, returning to the Archbold area in 1998. He worked at the former Dinner Bell Packing in Archbold many years, owned and operated Graber's Welding, and did maintenanace service for mobile homes in Florida. He delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a volunteer runner for Fairlawn Haven. He served in the Army during W.W. II, and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon, and the American Legion B.L.W. Post 311 in Archbold. He is survived by three sons, Lyle (Alsandra) Graber of Tampa, Fla., David (Susan) Graber of Michigan Center, Mich., and Michael (Sondra) Graber of West Unity; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter; four sisters, Amelia Krauss and Opal Zolman, both of Wauseon, Merlin (Isadore) Oneil of Delta, and Doris (Bill) Waite of Wauseon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant daughter, Darlene; five brothers, Roy Graber, Harvey Graber Jr., Ralph Graber, Lloyd Graber, and Kenneth Graber; three sisters, Evelyn Rupp, Cecelia Seiler, and Lena Simmons. Services will be held today, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the Fairlawn Chapel with Pastor Roger Marlow officiating. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery with military rites by American Legion B.L.W. Post 311. The family suggests that memorials be given to the American Heart Association. Short Funeral Home, Archbold, was in charge of the arrangements. |
