Archbold 7th Grade Boys Basketball

Liberty Center visited AMS, Tuesday, Jan. 22. In the opening stanza, Archbold used full-court pressure to open up an 8- 2 lead. The Tigers battled back to tie the score at 12 with less than 30 seconds left in the first half. Liberty Center hit a 30- foot three-pointer at the buzzer to head into the locker room with a 15-12 lead.

The third quarter proved to be the difference as the Streaks found their shooting touch and outscored the Tigers 16-3. Zeb Frank bucketed three threepointers. Archbold went into the fourth with a 10-point lead hung on for a 34-26 victory. Frank led the way with 14; Tyson Dietrich and Taylor Price combined for 13. David Bontrager, Stuart Wyse, and Bryce Tinsman rounded out the scoring.

The Streaks traveled to Delta, Thursday, Jan. 24. Archbold jumped all over Delta from the beginning as the Streaks raced out to a 10-2 lead after one. Frank had the hot hand, bucketing eight points. Taylor Price scored all nine of his points in the second as the Streaks went to the locker room with a 29-2 lead. Delta played Archbold evenly in the second half as the Streaks coasted to a 39-14 victory. Frank led the way with 16. Bontrager, Tinsman, Dietrich and Dylan Lantz also scored.

Archbold (11-1) heads into tournament, Saturday, Feb. 2 as the top seed. The Streaks face Bryan at 10 am at the Archbold Elementary gymnasium.
