Villages Work Together For Playground Officials of two villages, the Village of Archbold and Sauder Village, are working together to create an important new playground. Right now, the playground is only a concept, but paperwork has started to make it a reality. The Village of Archbold is applying for a State of Ohio grant to fund 75% of the construction cost; Sauder Village will build and maintain it. Combining the public entity, the Village of Archbold, and the private Sauder Village, creates a great winning opportunity and ideal situation. Sauder Village, without question, is an asset to Archbold. Archbold residents regularly visit Sauder Village; others volunteer personal time there. Many residents use Stotzer Lane, the connecting pathway between East Lutz Road and Sauder Village, which Erie Sauder paid for, to connect the two villages. An additional playground is an asset for Archbold residents, because it provides citizens with another recreational opportunity. Sauder Village gains because it can access State of Ohio grants funds to create a playground for its visitors. In these days of tight budgets, every bit of assistance helps. The proposed playground is another example of what can be accomplished when everyone works together. Sauder Village officials have not designated the exact location of the playground, but have stated it will be in an area where there is no admission charge and free to the public. Everyone looks forward to more examples of cooperation between the two villages. |
