Archbold 8th Grade Girls Basketball

Archbold jumped out to an 18-5 lead at halftime on the way to a 38-11 victory over Fayette, Tuesday, Jan. 15. The Streaks played solid defense and moved the ball on offense for some good shots.

Britt Wyse played a good game on both ends of the court and led all scorers with 10 points. Abby Short had 8; Mindy Rupp, Tori Williams and Ruthie Beck, 6 each; Morgan Cody, 2. Rash led Fayette with 5.

Archbold beat Montpelier 41-21, Thursday, Jan. 17. The Streaks led 10-0 at the end of the first quarter and then had to hold on in the second as Montpelier had a hot hand on offense to cut into the lead. The Streaks led 15-9 at halftime.

Archbold dominated the third and led 29-12 at the end of the period. The Streaks did a good job of rebounding and moving the ball for good shots and played better defense. Archbold outscored the Locos 12-9 in the fourth for the 41-21 final. Williams and Short had 8 points each. Chelsea Goebel had 7; Carley Wyse, 6; Beck, 4; Britt Wyse and Kristin Fonseca, 3 each; Rupp, 2.
