Archbold outscored Napoleon 14-8 in the fourth period to slip past the Wildcats 36-34, Tuesday, Jan. 15 in girls basketball action.

The Streaks scored only four fourth-quarter points, all free throws, as Patrick Henry scored 16 in the Patriots' 53-47 Northwest Ohio Athletic League victory, Friday, Jan. 18.

The Streaks are 12-5, 4- 3 NWOAL. PH is 7-8, 3-2 NWOAL.

Alyssa Schaub, a freshman, led the Streaks in the first quarter scoring nine of the team's 13 points as AHS led 13-12 after one. After the Streaks took a 19-12 lead, including two Adi Lange baskets off Bri Wyse assists, PH called a time-out with 6:30 left in the first half.

A three-minute PH scoring drought ended, but the Streaks had built a 21-14 lead.

Two PH three-pointers tightened the gap to 27-22, and at the half the Blue Streaks led 33-26.

Heading into the fourth quarter, AHS held a 43-37 advantage. A minute into the quarter, Patrick Henry put up a three to close the gap to 43-40, and tied the score at 43 with another trey with four minutes left.

Thirty seconds later, PH swooshed another three to take a 46-43 lead, causing Kevin "Scoop" Miller, AHS coach, to call a time-out.

After Abbey Graber converted a one-and-one with three minutes left, PH sank another three for a 49-45 advantage. Lange was fouled and made both free throws, pulling the Streaks within two, 49-47.

Samantha Seemann and Tiffany Ehlers each hit a set of free throws to seal the game, 53-47.

"PH shot the ball extremely well in the fourth quarter and hit some monster shots," said Miller. "The PH defense gave us fits, as they contested every shot."

The Patriots made eight three-pointers, including four in the fourth quarter.

Lange led AHS with 12 points. Schaub pitched in 11. PH's Seemann led all scorers, with 14.

Schaub picked up seven of Archbold's 33 rebounds.

The AHS junior varsity was victorious 40-36.

"I loved our intensity in the fourth quarter. We rebounded well and got after it on defense," said Miller. "We also went much more aggressive on offensive and made some things happen."

The score was tied at 17 at the half, and a weak Blue Streak third quarter gave Napoleon (9-4) a 26-22 lead.

But AHS came back in the fourth for the win. Graber and Schaub led AHS with 10 points each. Dani Newman had five of Archbold's 28 rebounds.

The Archbold JV won 40-26.
