Streaks Defend Championship Title At Chuck Forward Duals

      The 2008 Chuck Forward Duals trophy stayed in Archbold after the Blue and Gold posted a perfect 5-0 mark, Saturday, Jan. 19. The Streaks stand 25-10 overall. Going undefeated were Trevor Meyer, 135 pounds; Tyler Short, 152 lbs.; and Jordan Gracia, 215 lbs.

      Dan Borcherdt, a 2005 AHS graduate and son of Bob and Judy Borcherdt, scored 13 points in Mount Vernon Nazarene University's 78-68 conference win over Shawnee State University, Saturday, Jan. 19. The victory upped MVNU's record to 15-2, 3-1 in the American Mideast Conference South Division.

      Tournament pairings were drawn Sunday for the Ohio girls basketball tournament. In Division III action at Defi- ance, Tinora (13-2) received the number one seed. Archbold (12- 5) is seeded second. Tinora plays Delta (2-13), Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 6:15 p.m.

      The Pettisville girls basketball team went 2-1 last week to take its record to 11-5, 6-1 in the Buckeye Border Conference. Pettisville traveled to Montpelier for a non-league matchup, Tuesday, Jan. 15. Using a 16-6 second quarter, PHS won 46-40.
