Fire Destroys Garage

Wauseon Fire Department firefighters called for help from the Archbold Fire Department to battle a Monday evening, Jan. 21 garage fire at a house owned by Chris Stuckey, 18868 US20A. Wauseon firefighters were dispatched to the fire scene at 6:37 pm. The call to Archbold came seven minutes later. The garage was attached to the house by a connecting structure. Andy Brodbeck, AFD chief, said the garage was destroyed; the connecting structure and the back of the house suffered severe damage. AFD dispatched water tanker truck No. 106, along with engines Nos. 104 and 108; later, engine No. 102 was sent to fill tankers from a fire hydrant on Co. Rd. 19. At top, firefighters look for hot spots in the wreckage. Note the burned-out car in the foreground, which was in the garage. Below, firefighters look over the wreckage on the west side of the structure. - photos by David Pugh
