Grand Jury Indictments

Two Fayette men have been indicted for allegedly fleeing police in vehicles early this month.

The grand jury handed down indictments against five people, charging them with felony crimes allegedly committed in Fulton County.

Indicted:

•Craig C. Canfield, 34, Fayette; indicted on one count each failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, one count felonious assault; plus five counts aggravated menacing, four counts endangering children; on Jan. 3, fled police officers in a vehicle at a high rate of speed; attempted to cause physical harm to an officer with his vehicle; caused five other individuals in the vehicle to believe he would cause them serious physical harm; four of those individuals were children under the age of 11.

•Jack Wesley New, 27, Fayette, indicted on one count each failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, one count felonious assault, one count aggravated menacing; allegedly on Jan. 2, fled police officers in a vehicle at high rate of speed; attempted to cause physical harm to officer with his vehicle.

•Jaime D. Rivera, 24, Wauseon; indicted on one count, trafficking in cocaine; allegedly on July 5, 2007, sold cocaine.

•Marvin A. Ruffier, 39, Swanton; indicted on two counts, having weapons while under disability; allegedly, on Nov. 13, 2007, and again Nov. 20, 2007, was in possession of a firearm, which is illegal for him, because of a prior conviction for aggravated trafficking, and trafficking in marijuana.

•Christina M. Havens, 27, Wauseon; indicted on one count theft, one count identity fraud, one count receiving stolen property, and two counts forgery; allegedly, during November and December 2007, she stole blank checks, forged them, and used the personal information of another person.
