Michael P. "Mike" Rupp, 60, of Archbold, passed away early Sunday morning, Jan. 20, 2008 at the Fulton County Health Center, in Wauseon, after a long battle with leukemia.

Prior to his retirement he had owned and operated "The Pop Shop" in Archbold for over 25 years.

Mr. Rupp was born in Wauseon on Nov. 7, 1947, the son of the late Paul "Bud" and Margeret (Heer) Rupp. On Aug. 23, 1968 he married Bonnie Brown, and she survives.

He was an Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War era. Mike was a graduate of Adrian College. He was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, had served on the Board of Directors for the Cherry Street Mission in Toledo, was active with the Jail Ministry at C.C.N.O., was a former member of the Ohio Jaycees, was a substitute teacher in many local schools where he enjoyed helping children in his classroom, and was active in various mens ministry groups.

He also visited and spent time with the residents at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.

Surviving besides his wife, Bonnie, is his mother, Margeret Rupp of Archbold; two daughters, Valerie (Jay) Isaacson of Napa, Calif., and Stephanie (Kevin) Cornell of Archbold; four grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Rupp of Mexico and Joseph (Jean) Rupp, of Archbold; and a sister, Mary Rupp of Archbold.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul "Bud" Rupp.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church, with Pastor Brad Bame and Pastor Stuart Rex, officiating.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church or the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross.
