Theft Involving Debit Card, Identity Reported

The Archbold Police Department is investigating thefts involving the improper use of a debit card, and a misuse of a person's identity.

Richelle L. Zimmerman, rural Archbold, told Archbold Police someone has been using a debit card to take money from her bank account without her permission.

Martin Schmidt Archbold Police chief, said the thefts occurred at automatic teller machines at several locations, including the Farmers & Merchants State Bank.

The thefts occurred between Sept. 24, and Dec. 13, 2007. Zimmerman reported them to APD Thursday, Jan. 10.

The loss amounts to more than $2,800, the Archbold Police report states.

In a second case, Yvonne E. King, 111A Pleasant St., told officers on Friday, Jan. 11, she discovered someone was using her personal information.

The Archbold Police report indicates she suffered a financial loss of $500, which occurred between Jan. 1, 2006 to Jan. 11, 2008.

Both incidents are under investigation.
