Luella (Grieser) Rupp

Luella (Grieser) Rupp, 90, of Goshen, Ind., died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen, Ind. She had been in failing health since Aug. 2006.

Born July 2, 1917 in Leo, Ind., she was a daughter of Henry and Emma (Yoder) Stuckey. Formerly of Wauseon, she had lived in Goshen since 2003.

She married Cletus Grieser on May 19, 1939 in Leo, Ind., and he preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1969. She married Mahlon Rupp on Feb. 4, 1980 in Leo, Ind., and he died in Feb. 2003.

A homemaker, she was a member of West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon.

She is survived by two daughters, Rosalyn (Roger) Ledyard, Lancaster, Pa., and Lynette Slaubaugh, Goshen, Ind.; five sons, Merlin (Mary) Grieser, Lansdale, Pa., Dwight (Carol) Grieser, Goshen, Ind., Curtis (Connie) Grieser, Pueblo, Colo., Bernard (Sherri) Grieser, Spencerville, and Don (Sena Fitzpatrick) Grieser, Pine Hill, N.M.; three stepsons, Daryl (Polly) Rupp, Houston, Texas, Lynn (Karen) Rupp, Toledo, and Larry (Rosemary) Rupp, Goshen, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and nine surviving in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Cletus and Mahlon; one son, Darwin; two brothers, Lavern and Jesse Stuckey; and four sisters, Delilah, Hermia, Violet, and Genevieve.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 12, 2:30 p.m., at West Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon. There was a private family burial at Leo Cemetery, Leo, Ind., with Pastor Paul Mowery of the Harvest Fellowship, Leo, Ind., officiating.
