Northwest Ohio Bible Quiz League Begins 2008 Season

Northwest Ohio Bible quizzing opened its season, Sunday, Jan. 6 at the North Clinton Mennonite Church, Wauseon.
Fifteen teams, representing nine churches in Fulton, Williams, and Defiance counties, are participating, and include 78 students, 25 of which are first-time quizzers.
The material being studied this year is from Acts 10-28.
Simultaneous quizzing action took place in four areas of the church. Each team quizzed three matches for a total of 23 matches. Questions were taken from the New Testament book of Acts, chapters 10-14.
Receiving the first-place traveling trophy was "Beaten Purple," Lockport Mennonite Church, with an average score of 145. Members included Seth Nofziger, Eliot Nofziger, Claire Graber, Laurin Waidelich and Stacy Kinkaid.
Taking second, with an average score of 132, was "Remnant" from Sand Ridge. Members are Whitney Stamm, Collin Stamm, Alexis Stamm, Amanda Short, April Short, and McKenna Rash.
"Man Eating Worms" from Lockport Mennonite Church was third. Its average score was 127. Members are Wesley Short, Audrey Stuckey, Derek Miller, Isaac King, and Rachel King.
"Rookie cookies" were presented to all first-time rookie quizzers: Miriam Wyse, Natalie Cooley, and Paul Schoenhals, Central Mennonite Church; Michael Sheperd and Martin Sheperd, Edgerton Alliance Church;
Stacy Kinkaid, Rachel King, Natalie Graber, Luke Graber, Carly Sprow, Josiah Dahl, and Jordan Waidelich, Lockport Mennonite Church; Kira Andre, Nathan McClarren, Lorenzo McKeever, Christopher Schroeder, Tessa Yoder, and Aaron Rupp, North Clinton Mennonite Church;
Siera Caldwell, Poplar Ridge Brethren Church; Amanda Short, April Short, and McKenna Rash, Sand Ridge; Chris Jennings, St. John's Christian Church; Emily Short, and Dexter Aeschliman, West Clinton Mennonite Church.
The next meet is Sunday, Jan. 13, 6 p.m., at West Clinton Mennonite Church, rural Pettisville.
