Man Charged With Six Offenses After Sunday, Dec. 30 Incident

Tyson M. Snyder, 19, Bryan, was charged with DUI, failure to display a driver license, speeding, underage consumption, criminal trespassing, and possession of an open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle Sunday, Dec. 30.

The Archbold Police report states an officer observed a car, speeding westbound on Lafayette Street about 7:16 pm. The officer followed the car into the Archbold Evangelical Church construction site, at the end of Lafayette Street. The report noted there had been break-ins at the construction site in the past.

When police stopped the car and questioned the driver, who was identified as Snyder, he said he was from Illinois, where he attends college. He said he became lost while trying to go to Wauseon. He told officers he did not have his driver license.

The police report states it was later determined Snyder was a Bryan resident, who attends college in Ohio.

The report also states alcoholic beverage containers were found in the vehicle. The defendant told officers he collects cans for recycling, but officers said in their report the cans were untarnished, and some still contained some beverage.

Officers placed Snyder under arrest, charging him with the six offenses.

Police officers also questioned the passenger in the Snyder vehicle, Ryan F. Bruot, 20, Bryan. He was charged with possession of an open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, criminal trespassing, and underage consumption of alcoholic beverages.
