Archbold Village Council had fun during the Monday night, Jan. 7 meeting.
Kevin Eicher, newest member of council, took the oath of office, administered by Jim Wyse, Archbold mayor.
Because there is another councilman named Kevin, the mayor and Eicher agreed they would refer to him as Ike.
Following that piece of serious business, council recognized Larry Baus, a four-term councilman who chose not to run for reelection last year.
Wyse presented him with a special trophy featuring the rear portion of a horse- and only the rear portion- for voting against him at a meeting on Dec. 27. Baus was then presented a desk clock, recognizing his years of service to the village.
Then it was Baus' turn. He explained he had taken much ribbing for being the "old guy" on council, so he presented Brad Grime with a special plaque, recognizing him as the new old guy.
Grime said the plaque would find its way into the trash; it was immediately confiscated and told it will hang in a place of honor.
