Blue Streak Girls Dominate BG 72-

The Archbold girls basketball team upped its record to 8-4 after demolishing Bowling Green 72-34, Thursday, Dec. 27.
AHS opened with a 7-0 run; four of the seven were by Dani Newman as she grabbed offensive boards for easy buckets. She also scored a three-pointer with less than five seconds left, upping the lead to 16-8.
Eight of Archbold's 12 second quarter points were made at the foul line for a 28-14 halftime advantage.
The Blue Streaks came out hot in the third, scoring 25 points. The scoring started with a Bri Wyse assist to Stacy Wyse for a 30-14 advantage.
Devin Newman scored an easy shot on an in-bounds play in the middle of the quarter and AHS led 47-23. Alyssa Schaub passed to Adi Lange for a basket, and the Streaks led 53-25 going into the final quarter.
BG (3-6) finally scored with three minutes left in the fourth quarter, its first points since there was a little more than a minute left in the third.
Hailey Galvan finished the game with a basket for the 72- 34 victory.
Dani Newman led all scorers with 15 points. Lange and Devin Newman each added 12; Galvan had 10.
The Streaks were 29/58 from the field for 50% and were 12/24 from the foul line for 50%.
All 13 Streaks got playing time; 11 scored.
Archbold out-rebounded BG, 58-26. Devin Newman led the Streaks with 13.
"It was a great team effort," said Kevin "Scoop" Miller, AHS coach. "It was nice to see our starters and bench provide quality minutes.
"I loved our check-outs and our rebounding at both ends. We had a lot of balance, and that was nice to see."
