Elizabeth "Betty" Aeschliman Pursel

Elizabeth "Betty" Aeschliman Pursel, age 89 years, of Archbold, passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 29, 2007, at Fulton Manor Nursing Home in Wauseon, where she had resided since Aug. 20, 2002.

She was born June 9, 1918 near Fayette, a daughter of Martin and Daisey (Ulrich) Marzolf. She married Alfred "Hap" Aeschliman on Nov. 12, 1939, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1979. She then married Roscoe Pursel on March 14, 1987, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2001.

A resident of the Archbold area many years, she was a homemaker, helped on the family farm, and was an Avon distributor for several years. She was a member of the Archbold Evangelical Mennonite Church.

She is survived by one son, Max (Patricia) Aeschliman of Hillsdale, Mich.; a son-in-law, Merlin "Mert" (Sue) Kinsman of Archbold; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a daughter, Judy Kinsman; three brothers, Denver Marzolf, Roscoe Marzolf, and Oliver Marzolf; and one sister, Rufina Riegsecker.

Services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 11 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Pastor Stuart Rex officiating. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The family suggests that memorials be given to Fulton County Relay for Life or Hospice of Williams & Fulton Counties.
