Council Names Martz Street Superintendent; Approves $15 Million-Plus Budget For 2008

Archbold Village Council unanimously approved a $15,387,667 budget for 2008 during a special meeting. The action was taken with one member absent during council's final 2007 meeting, Thursday evening, Dec. 27.

The budget includes $4.1 million for wages and benefits.

Council also approved the appointment of Jason Martz as village street superintendent. He will replace Grant Bernath, who has been a village employee for 32 years. Bernath became the village street superintendent in 1988.

Martz is a long-time village street department employee.

The next council meeting is 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 7, in the Municipal Building.
