Vote Yes On Pettisville School Levy
In small towns across America, the school binds the community together. People young and old identify with their school, and, in turn, the school identifi es the community.
Pettisville citizens are known for supporting their school, and their school has given back by developing outstanding graduates. The Pettisville Local School District is one of the best in the state.
Now, Pettisville school district voters are being given the opportunity to build a new $21 million school building, with just $4.83 million in local dollars.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime offer. The State of Ohio, through the Ohio School Facilities Commission program, will pay about 80% of the cost of a new building.
It is an incredible opportunity to replace an aging, obsolete building with a state-of-the-art structure for a modest price.
To take advantage of the offer, Pettisville School District voters must support their school and vote yes on a $4.83 million bond issue. The bonds will be repaid by a property tax levy.
Unfortunately, Pettisville's levy request coincides with some of the worst financial times in American history.
On Election Day, Pettisville voters ought to approve the bond issue. Everyone knows good economic times will return. A $21 million building for less than $5 million won't.
