The Archbold cross country teams traveled to Swanton to run in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League meet, Saturday, Oct. 11. The Blue Streak boys placed fifth out of nine teams with 121 points. Delta won with a low score of 23. Wauseon was second with 99; Bryan rounded out the top three with 102. More ... Due to reporter error, the number of years since Archbold last won a sectional golf tournament was reported incorrectly in the Oct. 1 Buckeye. It had been 27 years since the team last won a sectional title. The team won the sectional tournament for the first time in 1980, and repeated the feat in 1981. More ... The Pettisville cross country teams ended their regular season at the final Buckeye Border Conference Jamboree, Thursday, Oct. 9. The girls team finished a solid second place in the league, and the boys team tied for third. In the girls meet, Fayette came in first place with 37 points, winning all three league meets. Pettisville was second with 61. More ... Dani Newman, daughter of Douglas and Roxy, Archbold, is a member of the Otterbein College volleyball team. A 2008 Archbold High School graduate, she is a freshman majoring in nursing. More ... The Pettisville soccer team traveled to Bowsher, Thursday, Oct. 9 for their final game of the season. Entering with a 10-5 record, the Birds won 3-0 to finish the regular season with an 11-5 record, which set the Pettisville record for most soccer wins in a regular season. More ... The Pettisville volleyball team set up a rematch with Edon to battle for the Buckeye Border Conference title after beating North Central, 25-10, 25-22, 25-17, Tuesday, Oct. 7. But the Birds lost to the Bombers for the second time this season, as Edon went 10-0 in the BBC with a 25-18, 25-12, 25-21 victory over PHS, Thursday, Oct. 9. More ... The Archbold junior varsity volleyball team traveled to Rossford, Saturday, Oct. 4 to participate in a tri-match with the Bulldogs and Start.
