Sauder Woodworking To Pay Civil Penalty For OEPA Violations
K Sauder: "Violations Have Been Corrected"
      Sauder Woodworking has agreed to pay a $15,600 civil penalty to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for nine hazardous waste violations. The worst of the nine violations found by OEPA was that Sauder employees were transporting hazardous waste on a public street.

Pettisville School Board Hears Building Questions
      Concerns about seating in the new gym and proposed auditorium, and classroom needs for special education, were expressed to Pettisville School Board members, Monday night, Oct. 13. The board held an informational meeting on the proposed school building project. Voters will decide whether or not to approve financing during the Nov. 4 general election.

Habitat For Humanity Holds Selection Meeting
      Families interested in being selected for a low-cost new home through Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County must attend one of two meetings coming up. The group will hold its fall family selection meeting, Monday, Oct. 20, 6:30 pm at the Good Shephard Church, 22489 Co. Rd. F, rural Archbold.

      The Archbold Area School Board held a special work session meeting, Thursday, Oct. 9. No action was taken. David Deskins, district superintendent, said the board "discussed various business affairs involving the district." He declined to elaborate.

Park Board Hears Report
      "We are fortune to have the funds to keep the swimming pool open," was how Kevin Morton, Archbold Park Board member, summed up the thoughts of board members during their Tuesday, Oct. 7 meeting. Jennifer Kidder, parks and recreation director, said the cost of a new filter system and its installation for the pool was between $35,000 and $40,000.

Area Residents In TV Documentary
      Thirteen area residents appear in a WBGU-PBS television documentary titled Days of The One Room Schoolhouse. Two Archbold residents, Erin Erbskorn and Sarah Beck, appear in the film. Erbskorn portrays one of the students who attend a one-room school. Beck is a schoolteacher.
