Pettisville Volleyball Advances To District Final
PHS Def. Stryker 25-18, 25-15, 25-13
      Pettisville defeated Stryker 25-18, 25-15, 25-13 in the Division IV district semifinal at PHS Tuesday night, Oct. 21. The Birds play the winner of the Edgerton district semifinal, either Edon or Antwerp, Saturday, Oct. 25, 5 p.m. at Napoleon.

      Liberty Center lost the first game 21-25, then won the next three 25-23, 25-22, 25-19 to capture a Div. III sectional championship at AHS, Saturday night, Oct. 18. The Tigers play Evergreen in the district semifinal at AHS, Tuesday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m. The Vikings beat Delta 25-16, 26-24, 25-20 in the first match of the night.

      The Archbold High School golf team finished ninth at the Division III state golf championships, Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11, in Lockbourne. It was the team's first-ever appearance at the state tournament.

Fall Election Promises Big Voter Turnout
      Kathy Meyer, director of the Fulton County Board of Elections, said signs are that the Fall 2008 general election will be the biggest ever. "We're at the highest registered voter count we've ever had," she said. As of Tuesday, Oct. 14, there were officially 29,620 registered voters in Fulton County.

      Grace Speiser, Henry County Board of Elections director, said Tuesday, Oct. 14, the number of registered voters in Henry County stands at 20,145. The number of registered voters hasn't exceeded 20,000 in close to a decade, she said.
