Council To Consider Urban Growth Area
      Members of Archbold Village Council will study the shape of the urban growth area that surrounds the village. At the Monday night, Sept. 22, council meeting, Dennis Howell, Archbold village administrator, said in the 1990s, Fulton County officials developed and approved a comprehensive land-use plan for the county.

Council Okays Seeking Bids For Construction, Cemetery Maintenance
      Archbold Village Council authorized Dennis Howell, Archbold village administrator, and Joan Lovejoy, village finance director, to seek bids for a construction project and for maintenance of the Archbold Cemetery. Approved at its Monday night, Sept. 22, council meeting, council will ask firms to prepare bids for maintenance of the village cemetery for three years.

Artisan At Work
      Two sisters, ages four and six, look on as Cinda Metcalf, basketweaver at Sauder Village, works in her shop. Many people visited the village during "Celebrate Our Artisans" week at the village. The event ran from Sept. 16-20.

      Pete Gstalder, vice president of Archbold Furniture, said there were three key things that brought the company back to Archbold. First, "Archbold is home for us," Gstalder said. Second, Gstalder said being located in Archbold makes it easier to recruit certain types of employees.

Time Warner Customers Could Lose Fox Channel
      Customers of the Time Warner cable system in Archbold could lose WUPW, the Toledo Fox television network affiliate, from their channel lineup. The issue was brought up at the Archbold Village Council meeting, Monday night. Sept. 22.
