Archbold Boys Finish Seventh At Delta Invite

Neuenschwander The Archbold cross country teams ran in the rain and mud at the Delta Cross Country Invitational, Saturday Sept. 13.

The Blue Streak boys placed seventh out of 18 teams with 238 points. Delta won with a low score of 62. Lenawee Christian was second with 95; Fayette rounded out the top three with 120.

The AHS girls didn't have enough runners to score as a team. Anthony Wayne captured the girls title with a low score of 47 points. Wauseon had 56; rounding out the top three was Blissfield, with 128.

Boys Delta 62, Lenawee Christian 95, Fayette 120, Anthony Wayne 143, Hudson 167, Hilltop 167, Archbold 238, Fairview 245, Antwerp 264, Columbus Grove 268, Wauseon 273, Blissfield 310, Morenci 331, Montpelier 350, Liberty Center 351, Edon 361, Rossford 479, Evergreen 507.

First across the finish line for Archbold was Adrian Ramirez. He finished 13th out of 174 runners in 18 minutes.

Michael Volkman was 43rd in 19:03. Third for Archbold was Justin Storrer; he was 57th in 19:23. Jacob Gobrogge was 62nd in 19:29. Chandler Tinsman rounded out the top five, finishing 75th in 20:01.

Other Blue Streaks, their places and times: 144. Chris Jennings 22:54; 174. Seth Strawn 28:20.

Blissfield's Justin Bateson won in 16:27.

Finishing first for Archbold was Laura Bowman. She placed 58th in 24 minutes. Elise Sauder was 114th in 27:16; Amanda Storrer was 140th in 29:20. Paige Price was the last Streak; she was 159th in 34:43.

Wauseon's Holly Baird won in 19:09.

"I think the athletes performed very well in the wet, rainy and muddy conditions. I am very proud of what they accomplished," said Mike Wachtmann, coach.
