Junior Fair Sale Donations Total Nearly $200,000

At the Fulton County Junior Fair Sale, Tuesday, Sept. 8, donations totaled $194,090.

With the market value of the animals included, the sale tallied $254,836.32.

A total of 524 market animals were sold during the sale at the fairgrounds.

Donations and number of animals, including "no sale" animals, were as follows: 36 goats, $7,355; 85 rabbits, $18,425; 18 turkeys, $4,385; 10 steers that were born and raised in the county, $9,700; 14 beef steers, $12,200; 13 dairy steers, $9,800; 72 lambs, $19,350; 175 hogs, $63.925; 42 beef feeder calves, $15,725; 43 dairy feeder calves, $14,375; 28 chickens, $6,550; 1 milk donation, $7,850; and 1 horse donation, $4,450. With the donations and market value included, the goat sale totaled $9,202.25; rabbits, $18,773.93; turkeys, $4,792.69; steers born and raised in the county, $15,796.50; beef steers, $28,487; dairy steer, $19,021.30; lambs, $27,873.25; hogs, $81,627.40; beef feeder calves, $15,725; dairy feeder calves, $14,375; and chickens, $6,862.

There were no milk or horse sales.

Last year the sale total was $332,675.12; in 2006, it was $217,003.43; 2005, $233,931.96; 2004, $232,498; and 2003, $211,659.
