2008 AHS Athletic Hall Of Fame Inductees

The 2008 class of the Archbold High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored at halftime of the Archbold-Montpelier football game, Friday, Sept. 26, and at a banquet, Saturday, Sept. 27 at Founder's Hall, Sauder Village.

Ten inductees make up this year's class: Jacob Spengler, Mike Walker, Lowell Spiess, Paul Yoder, Pete Seiler, Steve Rettig, Bruce Arthur, Jill Schnitkey, Joe Wyse, and Rachel Sauder Kinsman.

Inductees are selected on six criteria: must be an AHS graduate or coach; must be at least 15 years beyond graduation; emphasis on letters won; leadership in their sport(s); team success; and era (i.e. 1950, 1960 etc.). In each Hall of Fame class, the number of recipients from any one era is limited.

Members of the inaugural class in 2004 were Bill Hollingshead, John Jimenez, Larry Holland, John Fraas, Jerry Zuver, Cathy Rupp Gordon, Kim Bosco Ginn, Andy Peterson, Char Sharp, and Bill Arthur.

The second class of inductees in 2006 consisted of Jack Arthur, Jody Blose, Deb Fedderke, Chuck Forward, Tim Grieser, Art Kleck, Roger Schantz, Dale Schlatter, Steve Schnitkey, and Barb Short.
