Joneses Named King/Queen Of Golden Wedding Party
      Melvin (Babe) and Pauline Jones, Fayette, were named the king and queen of the 49th annual Fulton County Fair Golden Wedding Party, Sunday afternoon. They married March 2, 1940, and have two children, Jamie (Sandy) Jones, Big Rapids, Mich., and Joyce (Jim) Fruchey, Fayette. They have two grandsons, two step-grandchildren, and five great-granddaughters.

      Tagging Monarch butterflies has been a passion of Pat Hayes of Kelleys Island for 26 years. Hayes will bring his expertise to the property of Ed and Carol Nofziger, on St. Rt. 2 just west of Pettisville, Sunday, Sept. 7, from 1-3 p.m.

Bloodmobile Collects 65 Units
      According to the Sept. 2008 Ridgeville Township Newsletter, an Aug. 13 bloodmobile in Ridgeville Corners collected 65 units. It was 15 more than the goal of 50. Nine people made double donations totalling 18 pints of blood.

Lockport Ladies Bible Study Begins
      The Ladies Bible Study at Lockport Mennonite Church begins Tuesday, Sept 16, 9:30 a.m. The study will be on the book "Women of the Bible" by Ann Spangler and Jean Syswerda. This is a non-denominational study.
