PHS Volleyball Opens Season With Win, Loss

The Birds beat the Tigers in two games, 25-11, 25-13.

Columbus Grove beat PHS in the Birds' second match, 25-21, 25-20.

Pettisville was 44/49 in serving, 14/18 in serve reception, 19/21 in passing, 26/27 in setting, and 35/41 in attacks.

Chelsea Schmucker was 11/13 in attacks, including three kills, and 9/10 in serving with three aces. Haley Nofziger was 7/8 in attacks, including five kills, and 8/9 in serving, with two aces. She also had two digs.

Karina Rohrer-Meck was 11/12 in serving with five aces and 16/17 in setting. Tessa Yoder was 10/10 in setting.

Col. Grove Def. PHS 25-21, 25-20

The Birds had six serving and 10 blocking errors in their loss to the Bulldogs.

Nofziger was 10/11 in attacks with seven kills. She also had five digs and a solo block.

Lauren Bontrager was 9/9 in serving with two aces. Rohrer- Meck was 14/14 in setting. Katie Weber, Schmucker, and Stacey King each had two kills; Stephanie Yoder and Rohrer- Meck each had one.
