Thefts Reported To Police

A Stryker girl reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle, and an Archbold man reported someone illegally using his credit card last week.

Mariah Rae Vasquez, 16, rural Stryker, told Archbold Police officers she parked her sport-utility vehicle in the 400 block of Vine St. at about 6:30 pm, Saturday, Aug. 23.

She returned to the vehicle about 11 pm and drove back home; when she arrived, she discovered her purse was missing.

The purse and a wallet inside were valued at about $150. The purse contained $80 in cash and her identification.

She told the officers she left her purse on the seat of the vehicle, which was unlocked.

On Thursday, Aug. 21, Richard Spiess, Archbold, told Archbold police officers he had been contacted by his credit card company. The company asked if he had made three large purchases; he had not.

The card company also reported someone had requested a change of address for his credit card.

Officers are investigating both cases.
