Brie and Baby Brie
     Excitement filled the Dairy Barn on Sunday, Aug. 31, as a heifer was giving birth. "Brie," owned by Travis Schroeder, 14, Wauseon, gave birth to a calf at 6:01 p.m. This photo was taken 3 minutes later as the mother was cleaning up her baby. Beer Sales After Chili Cookoff To Pour Profits Into Archbold Chamber
      "It's not a beer tent," said Nanette Buehrer, director of the Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce. There will be more than just beer, and there may not even be a tent, she said. The Archbold Area Chamber of Commerce is in the process of applying for a special type of liquor permit that would allow them to sell beer during the Chili Cookoff, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 4.

Archbold One Of 74 Ohio School Districts To Earn Excellent With Distinction Rank
Pettisville Earns Excellent Rating On State Report Cards
      The Archbold Area School District earned the ranking of Excellent with Distinction on the Ohio Department of Education school district report cards for 2007-08. This is the first year ODE has recognized school districts with the new Excellent with Distinction ranking, the highest available. Only 74 school districts out of Ohio's 600-plus earned the ranking.
